Currently, he works as a Nurse Practitioner for Washington University, where his passion for taking care of people shines through. Known for his hard work and enormous heart, Derek is committed to making a difference in the lives of those he encounters.

Nick Fruend

Nick was born in St. Louis and grew up in rural Troy, Missouri. After studying theatre education at Missouri State University, Nick amassed over 12 years of experience in planning, hosting, and managing events across numerous venues in Missouri. As a full-time realtor, Nick specializes in old homes in the city. His dedication to event management is evident in his hands-on approach at The Little Bevo, where he managed the historic renovation. Whether he's behind the bar, DJing, serving food, or assisting with decorations, Nick ensures every client has an exceptional experience.

Their Story

Nick and Derek met in 2022 and quickly realized they were meant to be together. They are set to marry in 2025 at The Little Bevo, a venue close to their hearts. Residents of South City, they are deeply passionate about the Bevo Mill Neighborhood. Nick serves on the Community Improvement District Board for Bevo Mill, and together, they host numerous fundraisers throughout the year for local charities.

Life Together

Nick and Derek share their home with two French bulldogs, Percy and Preston, a lab mix named Callie, and two sassy kitties, Trixie and Billie. In their free time, they love supporting local businesses and restaurants, as well as antiquing.
